Where do the rates come from?
Pouchy shows daily reference rates from the Frankfurter service. They are a fair benchmark, not the exact rate your card or a money changer will charge. Tap Details under the converted amount to add your card's foreign-transaction fee or enter a manual rate.
Can I convert the other way?
Yes. Tap the round arrow button between the two amounts in Convert to swap direction, for example to see how much local money your home currency buys.
Does it work offline?
Yes. The app keeps the last rate it saw for each currency pair. If there is no saved rate yet, enter one by hand and keep going.
How do I choose which trip an expense goes to?
After tapping Save in Convert, use the row at the top of the new expense to pick any trip, Everyday, or start a new trip. The expense uses that trip's currency unless you choose another. New expenses start in whichever of Trip or Everyday you last viewed.
What is Everyday?
Spending outside a trip. Switch between Trip and Everyday at the top of the Trip tab. Everyday totals each calendar month in your home currency from Settings. An Everyday expense can later be moved into a trip, but a trip's expenses stay with that trip.
How do I log Apple Pay purchases automatically?
Go to Settings > Auto-log, turn it on, then tap Open Shortcuts. In Automation, tap +, choose Wallet, pick your cards and select Run Immediately. Add Pouchy's Log Expense action, then set Amount and Merchant to the Shortcut Input's Amount and Merchant. Each purchase goes into the trip whose dates cover it, or into Everyday. It arrives with an Auto tag and the category you last used for that merchant. Tap it and choose Looks right, or edit it. A purchase that matches another expense on the same day is marked as a possible duplicate. Nothing is deleted for you.
How do I add and set up the widgets?
Touch and hold your Home Screen, tap Edit > Add Widget, then choose Pouchy. There are two: Rate shows a saved conversion rate, and Trip shows one trip and opens it with a tap. Touch and hold a widget and choose Edit Widget to pick which rate or trip it shows. Hide trip spend in Settings removes amounts from the widgets. Large and Lock Screen widgets are part of Pro.
My widget says “Open Pouchy”
Open the app once. Widgets refresh from data the app saves, and iOS decides exactly when they update.
How does sync work?
Sync is optional. Sign in with Apple in Settings to keep your trips on more than one device. Without an account, everything stays on your iPhone.
I bought Pro on another device
Open Settings > Discover Pouchy Pro and tap Restore purchases while signed in to the same Apple ID.
How do I export or delete my data?
Settings > Get a free copy of my data creates an export. Signed-in users can delete their account and synced records from Settings. Guest data can be erased from the same screen.
